In the beginning Brian was flying with a pilot in an single engined plane to his fathers while on the plane Brian revived his hatchet from his mother for a present and his windbreaker just in case it got cold when suddenly the pilot said "My Chest Is Ripping Apart!!!", then Brian instantly knew his pilot was having a heart attack. Right after Brian took to the controls he quickly pulled upward causing the plane nose to fly upward with tremendous force. After that slight mistake Brian quickly recovered and stayed cautious. After that Brian came back to reality and noticed that his fuel was running out and he needed to land soon. The only place that he could see that was safe enough not to rip apart the plane was a large L shaped lake. Brian then considered that it was the only landing place and started to descend into the lake. Brian then started to notice he was pulling to the left so he drove the plane more to the right. After so called ''safe landing" he got his wind breaker snagged on something when he was trying to swim to shore. Having a tight grip on his hatchet and windbreaker he ripped the windbreaker free and swam to shore. The next day he woke up leaning on a steady tall tree. Being very dehydrated Brian decided he will need to drink from the lake even if it is dirty, until he remembered the pilot so he decided to pass the thought and started to think more survival like. Later on he decided he was going to be here for at least a day or two so he drank from the lake, remembering how thirsty he was he tried to control himself but soon his thirst got over him he drank until he was bloated. After his 3rd sip he threw up until his stomach was pleased and forgotten the urge of food, Brian then started to think about food again causing his stomach to grumble so Brian started to forget about food and try to pass the night off.
The next day was harder then ever for Brian now he was hungry and had no food, that morning he started to think about his friend Terry and how they would play in the forest and say what would they bring if they got lost in the woods. Brian then looked at his items that laid on the grass and thought "But I don't have those guns and tools." And then Brian came back to reality and started to think about his shelter and what to make. But before he could do that he went hunting for food. Searching along the forest floor he had no luck but staying near the lake or in view of the lake was more important to him now. Then he saw his first sight a food! Brian had found cherries! Before even looking if they were poisonous he quickly chewed on one but then the bitter taste him him. The cherries Brian was now eating were gut cherries bad on taste this was Brian's only food source so he didn't complain too much. Then his first head on encounter of wildlife came a brown bear was walking in Brian after spotting the bear froze immediately the bear then left the scene. After stuffing himself with cherries Brian then started to go to a tree to nap. Waking up to a stench that led to sharp jabs Brian knew that he was being attacked by a porcupine. After the porcupine left Brian and started his way to an cave Brian hastily threw his hatchet at the porcupine only to miss, and hit a rock and sparks flew but before his eyes this was no rock.... it was a source of fire! Swiftly Brian took out the needles of the porcupine and ran over there to retrieve his hatchet, and noticed that it had chipped his hatchet Brian felt bad considering his life may depend on his hatchet. But the he quickly gather dead limbs of trees and tried igniting them but no use, then he remembered a lesson a teacher called Mr. Perpich told him. Fire needed oxygen to survive and he had plenty, Slowly he grabbed some small branches and leaves and put them together. Carefully he hit his hatchet against the rock and sparks flew, one of the sparks hit a leaf and Brian slowly started to blow heating up the spark that spark slowly and steadily grew into a flame. Brian was happy but he needed to transport his fire so the smoke could get out and might be able to signal an passing aircraft. Carefully he grabbed a stick and lit it on fire, and started a new fire now with the smoke going up Brian has now more hope that someone will save him. So he passed the night off again.
Days have passed and Brian craved food not those disgusting gut cherries but something more appetizing he had more time to focus on food because his shelter was built and he has his fire set. Determined to find something better Brian soon hears a noise of scratching on a beach shoreline to scared to go straight away after the sound he waited then went to his surprise he found a small patch of sand reburied. Brian could tell considering that the color of the sand was different. He started to dig and then he found turtle eggs Brian quickly drank the yolk and started at another this was Brian's first different meal in ages. Brian then took the eggs and reburied them near his shelter, sitting down Brian started to think about his mom, and how his dreaded secret tore his father and his mom away. It was at the mall Brian was just about the leave with his friends when he saw his mom exchanging kisses with another man, of course he quickly told his father what had happened. They immediately filed a divorce and that was that. Brian felt mad at his mom because if she didn't kiss that man then they wouldn't have broken up and Brian wouldn't have to fly to his father which led to the crash. Brian then went to sleep with now a full stomach.
The next morning Brian was ready to tackle a new day, he came up an idea while he was sleeping to catch a fish after all when he was drinking the water on the first day he noticed small lake fish. So he decided he would start to hunt for fish, grabbing a nice piece of drift wood he began carving only stopping a few times to rest and see how it looked he continued. After finishing he started to edit his spear and turned it into a two-pronged spear. Testing and practicing his spear until he felt ready and ran to the lake. Waiting for a fish to come he quickly lunged and attempted to stab the fish only to miss, then he tried again waiting for a new fish to come. This time with his spear dipped into the water he quickly flicked his wrist but it was another failed attempt, he tried again and a again but it seems to feel like the spear went right through the fish and hit the sand bed. Leaving with no fish in hand he grabbed his spear and started for his shelter. And decided to make a bow so he could launch his spear faster, after many failed attempts Brian gave up on fish and a new animal was on his menu, Brian wasn't going for any fish he was going for a fool bird. Shooting his an arrow he missed the bird by a tiny bit, while retrieving his arrow from the failed attack Brian looked at the lake a noticed how the water messed up his vision then he remembered what Mr. Perpich told him, how the water will change your vision due to something he didn't pay attention to. Then it hit him, the reason it looked like the arrows were going right through the fish is because it was actually going above the fish but the water distorted his vision into thinking it was dead center. So Brian went back to a small shallow part of the lake, dipped his arrow in and aimed at the stomach of a passing fish and let go of his string. He had finally caught a fish! Brian swiped the arrow with the fish flopping around on it and he enjoyed a nice meal that day.
Many days have passed and Brian was getting used to the wilderness even though a moose had attacked him but hadn't damaged him permanently and a tornado struck his shelter causing Brian to restart everything but this time Brian was about to have a slight change in his life so far. The tornado that had hit Brian had also flipped the tail of the plane up with that as a reminder Brian remembered the survival pack in the plane just floating there.... Brian was now determined that he needed that pack, Making a makeshift raft he quickly sailed away and tied his raft to the plane and dropped his hatchet Brian was assiduous to get it, he dived over and over again to get the hatchet. Finally he retrieved his hatchet and hit his hatchet against the planes light aluminum shelling it went through like a soggy sheet of paper and a chain saw quickly yet carefully he cut a triangle large enough for him to go through, he dived in and found the decomposing of the pilot, even the fish were eating it, slightly nauseated Brian got his survival pack made it back on his raft, ripped it open and found items. From frozen food to a hunting rifle but one thing he tried first was the emergency radio Brian turned it on, Hearing nothing but static Brian left it on the plane little did he know that saved his life a in coming fur buyer/ trader heard it and came in to rescue Brian.
